Our Commitment to Restoring Nature
Mining activities inevitably alter the landscape, but responsible mining companies go beyond extraction — they actively restore what nature has given. CDE's Reforestation Program has planted over 150,000 native tree seedlings across 320 hectares of post-mining land since 2021.
Native species such as Shorea leprosula, Meranti merah, and Ulin were selected by our environmental team based on soil composition analysis and local biodiversity mapping, ensuring the restored ecosystem is self-sustaining in the long run.
Community Involvement
The program actively involves surrounding communities by employing local workers for planting, monitoring, and maintenance activities. This not only accelerates restoration but also provides sustainable livelihoods for over 400 local families.
Results So Far
Early data shows a 35% increase in bird species recorded within restored areas — a strong indicator of ecosystem recovery.
